Innocence of Islam was created and developed the same week in which outraged Muslims burned down the Libyan Embassy and killed a peace loving friend of Islam, the Ambassador of the United States to Libya, Christopher Stevens. As we sought to make sense of the chaos unfolding, and with tearful eyes, we determined to help Muslims and Westerners understand why it happened.

We hope to help people to resolve to humility, patience, tolerance and wisdom, rather than to rushed judgement and retribution. The current path will only propagate hatred and raise the fire of ignorance into a diabolically inspired inferno that will burn us all. Please approach this effort with an understanding that we are seeking to educate, learn and understand one-another, so that we will tolerate and love one-another. Hatred is not God's will for us, and revenge only begets more vengeance, anger and hatred. If we can instead return love to those who show us hatred, we will befuddle the evil forces that seek to separate us as a human race.
